Foals, per 'Wash Off' video educativo per il COVID-19
La band britannica pubblica un video ispirato alle disposizioni per contrastare il Coronavirus
Con un tempismo perfetto - nel pieno dell'emergenza sanitaria da Coronavirus - i Foals hanno pubblicato il video per 'Wash Off', canzone contenuta in "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2", secondo parte dell'album pubblicato in due capitoli lo scorso anno.
Un titolo del genere ('Wash Off', 'Lava via' Ndr) non poteva che prestarsi perfettamente alla situazione attuale e le note della formazione britannica mostrano semplicemente in repeat una persona che si lava le mani seguendo tutte le indicazioni fornite per un lavaggio ottimale. Secondo il Center For Disease Control And Prevention, la durata dell'operazione deve essere di almeno 20 secondi, il tempo esatto che viene indicato in continuazione nel video da un timer situato nella parte bassa dell'inquadratura.
Opportunismo quello dei Foals? Forse, ma ciò che è certo è che la comunità musicale è sicuramente molto sensibile al tema COVID-19 e all'impatto devastante che sta avendo non solo sulla salute ma anche sull'economia. Basti pensare allo stop totale degli eventi dal vivo in Italia e alle ricadute che, pian piano, sta avendo anche sugli eventi in tutto il mondo.
Nelle scorse ore festival storici ed enormi come il SXSW di Austin in Texas e il Coachella - spostato a ottobre - si sono trovati a dover annullare o rimandare gli eventi e sono sempre di più gli artisti ad aver rimandato i loro tour, come i Pearl Jam che ieri hanno deciso di posticipare il tour nordamericano a supporto del nuovo lavoro "Gigaton" in uscita a fine mese.
A proposito di concerti, questi ancora confermati, i Foals sono previsti in Italia per due date:
- Martedì 23 giugno @ Rock In Roma, Roma
- Mercoledì 24 giugno @ Sexto 'Nplugged, Sesto Al Reghena (PD)
La band guidata da Yannis Philippakis è stata recentemente premiata come "Miglior Gruppo" ai BRITs Awards e 'Miglior Live' agli NME Awards, i premi assegnati dall'importante rivista musicale New Musical Express.
