Si è tenuta la scorsa notte a Las Vegas la cerimonia di premiazione dei Grammy Awards. I premi dell'industria discografica hanno visto trionfare per le categorie rock i Foo Fighters.
I riconoscimenti sono arrivati a dieci giorni dalla morte del batterista Taylor Hawkins che è stato anche omaggiato da Billie Eilish. La giovane superstar, fresca vincitrice dell'Oscar per la colonna sonora dell'ultimo capitolo di James Bond, si è esibita live indossando una maglia con l'immagine di Hawkins.
Con i premi di ieri sera i Foo Fighters sono diventati la band americana ad aver ricevuto più Grammys nella storia.
I trionfatori dei Grammy Awards
Si è tenuta ieri sera alla MGM Grand Garden Arena di Las Vegas la sessantaquattresima edizione dei Grammy Awards, per la prima volta nella 'sin city' del Nevada.
I premi dell'industria discografica hanno visto trionfare il pianista e compositore Jon Batiste, la stella teen Olivia Rodrigo e Silk Sonic, progetto di Bruno Mars e Anderson.Paak.
Jon Batiste è arrivato alla serata dei Grammys con ben undici nomination e si è portato a casa cinque statuette: Best American Roots Performance, Best American Roots Song, Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, Best Music Video e, soprattutto, l'importantissimo Album Of the Year.
Silk Sonic, il progetto di due pesi massimi del funk e r'n'b, Bruno Mars e Anderson .Paak, si è aggiudicato quattro premi grazie al brano Leave The Door Open. Il singolo estratto da "An Evening With Silk Sonic" ha infatti trionfato come Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance e Best R&B Song.
Incetta di premi anche per Olivia Rodrigo, stellina teen che ha dominato le classifiche mondiali dell'ultimo anno con il suo album di debutto "Sour".
La 19enne californiana ha vinto tre Grammys: Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance e Best Pop Vocal Album.
Il trionfo dei Foo Fighters nelle categorie rock dei Grammys
Per quanto riguarda le categorie rock, i veri trionfatori della serata sono stati i Foo Fighters. A circa dieci giorni dalla tragica scomparsa del batterista Taylor Hawkins, la band di Dave Grohl è stata premiata con 3 statuette, arrivando a diventare la band americana ad aver vinto più Grammy Awards nella storia, ben 15.
I Foo Fighters hanno vinto il Grammy per Best Rock Performance per Making a Fire, Best Rock Song con Waiting On A War e Best Rock Album per "Medicine At Midnight".
La band, inizialmente annunciata tra i presenti, ovviamente ha cancellato la partecipazione della serata dopo la morte di Taylor Hawkins. Il batterista dei Foo Fighters, scomparso 10 giorni fa a soli 50 anni mentre in tour con la band in Colombia, è stato però ricordato nel segmento 'In Memoriam' che celebra gli artisti scomparsi nell'ultimo anno.
Un tributo speciale è arrivato anche da Billie Eilish. La giovane superstar, che si è esibita ai Grammys a distanza di una settimana dalla notte degli Oscar in cui ha trionfato per la colonna sonora di James Bond, ha cantato la titletrack dell'album Happier Than Ever indossando una t-shirt nera con il ritratto di Hawkins.
Venendo agli altri rappresentanti della scena che sono stati premiati ai Grammys, Mike Shinoda ha vinto con il suo remix di Passenger nella categoria Best Remixed Recording, Non Classical.
I Dream Theater sono stati invece i trionfatori nella categoria Best Metal Performance con 'The Alien' e si sono lasciati alle spalle Deftones, Gojira, Mastodon e Rob Zombie.
Il Best Alternative Music Album, infine, è stato vinto da "Daddy's Home" di St.Vincent e George Harrison ha trionfato nella categoria Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package per il cofanetto per i 50 anni di "All Things Must Pass".
Dal punto di vista delle performance, il rock è salito sul palco dei Grammy Awards con H.E.R. che per l'occasione si è fatta accompagnare da Travis Barker, Terry Lewis e Lenny Kravitz. I quattro hanno suonato proprio una delle più grandi hit di Lenny Kravitz: 'Are You Gonna Go My Way'.
