Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda vuole la vostra voce

L'MC della band sta lavorando a un nuovo brano dal titolo 'Open Door' e chiede l'aiuto dei fan per completarlo

Mike Shinoda ha iniziato a lavorare al seguito di "Post-Traumatic", il primo album pubblicato nel 2018 dopo lo stop dei Linkin Park in seguito alla morte di Chester Bennington, e chiede il supporto dei fan. Con una diretta streaming effettuata ieri sui suoi canali, l'artista americano ha dato un assaggio della versione demo di 'Open Door' mostrando le fasi di  missaggio e spedendo poi l' mp3 della canzone ai fan. 

Il motivo? Lo spiega lo stesso Shinoda su Twitter: "

"Ho un'idea. Voglio un'altra voce per il ritornello di 'Open Door'. E se fosse quella di qualcuno di voi? Prendete la canzone, cantatela, mettete il link su Twitter usando l'hashtag #SingOpenDoor e se vi farò sapere se qualcosa è di mio gradimento".

La volontà di coinvolgere maggiormente i fan in questo progetto aveva spinto inizialmente Shinoda a creare proprio attraverso Community.com un punto di ritrovo attraverso il quale essere in contatto diretto con il pubblico. A fine febbraio, Shinoda ha inviato agli iscritti alla sua community tre demo di 'Open Door' chiedendo quale preferissero. Il risultato è stato che i fan hanno scelto a pari merito tutte le tracce, facendogli prendere la decisione di unire un pezzetto di ogni demo per formare quello finale.

Il 16 marzo, infine, l'MC dei Linkin Park ha mandato un altro messaggio agli iscritti: "Saluti dalla quarantena a Los Angeles. Spero che stiate prendendo il meglio da questa situazione strana. Noi abbiamo deciso di restare in casa e la buona notizia è che sto diventando abbastanza bravo con Fortnite. Prendetevi cura di voi stessi e di chi amate" per poi andare in diretta Instagram il giorno dopo e lanciare la proposta di 'canzone partecipativa' a tutti i fan della sua musica.
