Queens Of The Stone age, "In Times New Roman... "è il nuovo album
La band di Josh Homme ha annunciato l'uscita del nuovo album "In Times New Roman...", accompagnata dal primo singolo Emotion Sickness
Dopo i teaser dei giorni scorsi, i Queens Of The Stone Age hanno annunciato il loro ottavo album in studio, "In Times New Roman...".
Si tratta del primo album della band di Josh Homme in sei anni, l'ultimo è "Villains" del 2017.
Ad anticipare l'uscita dell'album, il prossimo mese, i Queens Of The Stone Age hanno pubblicato il primo singolo 'Emotion Sickness'.
Il ritorno dei Queens Of The Stone Age con In Times New Roman...
I Queens of the Stone Age annunciano il loro atteso 8° album in studio, "In Times New Roman…" in uscita il 16 giugno su Matador.
In Times New Roman... è crudo, a tratti brutale e non è consigliato ai deboli di cuore. Eppure è forse l’album più bello e gratificante della loro epica discografia. I testi di Joshua Homme sono più pungenti che mai e sono sostenuti dal suono inconfondibile dei QOTSA impreziosito da colpi di scena in ogni canzone. In Times New Roman… ci insegna che a volte bisogna guardare sotto le cicatrici e le croste per vedere la bellezza, e che spesso le croste e le cicatrici sono la bellezza.
Sentendosi un po’ fuori posto e avendo difficoltà a trovare nuova musica a cui potersi riferire, i QOTSA hanno fatto come sono soliti fare: In Times New Roman… è il suono di una band che crea musica che i suoi stessi membri vorrebbero ascoltare, dando al resto di noi un contesto sonoro in cui riunirsi. “The world’s gonna end in a month or two," canta Homme implicitamente chiedendo: Cosa volete fare con il tempo che vi rimane?
Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman e Jon Theodore potrebbero non essere in grado di salvarci ma ci danno un posto dove passare il tempo.
Emotion Sickness, il nuovo singolo dei Queens Of The Stone Age
Il primo singolo tratto da In Times New Roman… è “Emotion Sickness”, brano che avvolge gli ascoltatori in una coperta calda di ritornelli ipnotici e groove fuori dal comune, punteggiati da sfumature di turbolenza psichica. Gli ultimi anni sono stati difficili per tutti, e non è un segreto che anche i membri dei QOTSA abbiano subito dolori e perdite.
Ma chi di noi non ha avuto a che fare con un recente attacco (o due) di malessere emotivo?
In Times New Roman… è stato registrato e mixato ai Pink Duck (RIP) di Homme, con registrazioni aggiuntive al Shangri-La. L’album è stato prodotto dai Queens of the Stone Age e mixato da Mark Rankin e sarà disponibile su tutte le piattaforme digitali, in LP (nero, verde, rosso, argento e blu) e CD il 16 giugno 2023. L’artwork e il packaging dell’LP sono stati disegnati dal collaborator di lunga data Boneface.
